What do we do?

As a multi-dimensional company simplas is involved in many aspects of the plastics industry including; awareness and education, manufacturer recycling potential assessment, industry representation, plastics recycling, and even scrap collection and toll work.

Awareness & Education: It’s easy to get lost in the manufacturing process, and in our experience bi-products of process are not getting the attention they deserve - more attention must be focused on the waste that is generated. Equally important are the bi-products generated in the installation process. The manufacturer and trades have an obligation to show an interest in reducing and recycling the waste they produce. This is definitely an area where simplas can help.

As a part of a global solution, we must individually and collectively, be more aware of our daily impact on the environment. Programs are already in place for industry to recycle plastic and simplas is a growing part of that economy.

• actively collecting plastic from industry and the trades directly from the job-sites through cartage bins – currently 80% of this material goes to landfills
• offering industry a free one-stop location for recycling (that saves industry hundreds of thousands in landfill fees) where plastic is sorted by type, washed, reduced and introduced back into the manufacturing community

simplas is more than pleased to represent its clients in various capacities within the industry. Currently, simplas will be representing Royal Pipe Systems at the Vinyl Council Of Canada’s Vinyl Recycling Stakeholder Conference in Toronto on December 8th, 2005.

plastics recycling:

Scrap collection/ Toll work: Since August, 2004, simplas has collected, cleaned and re-ground, over 2 million pounds of PVC and polyethylene plastic. This has not only reduced significant waste but also provided increased profits for these clients. simplas deals with scrap plastics in all sectors – extrusion, injection moulding and raw materials – and specializes in PVC, and Poly pipe products and home building products like siding, window and custom profiles.
